“One summer night, out on a flat headland, all but surrounded by the waters of the Bay, the horizons were remote and distant rims on the edge of space. Millions of stars blazed in darkness, and on the far shore a few lights burned in cottages. Otherwise there was no reminder of human life.”

~  Rachel Carson (marine biologist; author, Silent Spring. 1907-1964)

I sit at the water’s edge on the tip of a small peninsula at the southern end of Morro Bay, a bird sanctuary on the rural Central Coast of California, where I enjoy unparalleled views of the Bay.

I offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, in romance, here in “the middle kingdom” as National Geographic once called my region of California. I am your natural escape, your refuge and your home base for exploring all that is around me and all that is within you.

Come and stay a spell with me. Read one of my intriguing books filled with short stories or watch one of my DVDs. Make tea or cook a gourmet meal in my fully equipped kitchen to enjoy by candlelight or under the stars on my kitchen’s deck. Snuggle into my sea foam green king-size bed. Curl up with a good book in my corner reading chair, peruse original art on my walls, and discover my handmade baskets and carvings from Africa, the South Seas, and local Native Americans. Enjoy a glass of award-winning Central Coast wine as you sit quietly on my deck and watch the pelicans, herons, snowy plovers and peregrine falcons while the sun slips silently into the horizon.

I have seen and heard many things in my three score and ten years. Like all places where people dwell, there is a spirit here that has been shaped by the personalities, conversations, and temperament of those who have spent time here. I have been occupied by travelers, adventurers, writers, painters, romantics and naturalists…and by my owners’ four generations of artists and lovers of life. Their presence lingers in the air and invites you to both partake and contribute your own essence to my evolving character.
