“Come rest your heart awhile with me. It seems easier here in the country, amongst the birds and the bay, near the sea. I hope you fall in love you see, to return again and again so that we become dear friends, you and me.”

~ The Green Cottage

To help preserve my character, art and antiques, I am best for two adults. I ask that you leave your pets at home and do any smoking outside.

My owners offer gift certificates in a personalized custom card if you would like to mark a special occasion by gifting a stay at The Green Cottage.

My companion and I were alone with the stars: the misty river of the Milky Way flowing across the sky, the patterns of the constellations standing out bright and clear, a blazing planet low on the horizon. It occurred to me that if this were a sight that could be seen only once in a century, this little headland would be thronged with spectators. But it can be seen many scores of nights in any year, and so the lights burned in the cottages and the inhabitants probably gave not a thought to the beauty overhead; and because they could see it almost any night, perhaps they never will.”

~ Rachel Carson (marine biologist; author, Silent Spring. 1907-1964)
